My name is Michele Ebbers and this journey started 17 years ago when our son passed away. He lived life to the fullest and nothing stopped him. He taught me that if you don’t at least try because you are too scared or afraid of failing, then you already have.
So I made a promise to him that I have always kept. If I never done it and I want to and it looks like fun THEN I DO IT WITH NO REGRETS! He is my inspiration in everything I do between jumping out of planes, zip lining and traveling.
About 2 years ago I saw a YouTube video of a CNC wood engraver in action and thought it would be cool to combine my creative imagination with wood. I purchased the machine without any experience or background in sign making & I have been having fun ever since.
Sometimes I get a feeling that he is standing beside me saying “That’s F**** Cool Mom, or boy Mom that looks like crap", either way it always brings a smile to my face.
MT Designs is here for the other wild ones that are unapologetically themselves and grabbing life by the horns.

How long does a custom order take?
Usually 2-4 weeks depending on the complexity and wood selection. I'll give you a clear timeline when we start.
Do you ship your woodworking pieces?
Yes! We offer shipping across Ontario and Canada. Local pick-up is also available at our shop in Metcalfe. Shipping fees will be calculated based on location and size of the finished product.
Can I provide my own wood design?
Absolutely. I love breathing life into your creative ideas. Send me a sketch or a description and we will make it happen.
What are the most common sizes for signs?
The main sizes I use for wood making are 5x8, 8x8, 10x10 but as you can see from our portfolio we can customize the sign based on your needs.
